Unable to select tool while animating

I am unable to select a part that is not locked while animating.

This is the issue below:

Any solutions I can try?

Have you tried restarting studio or using explorer to edit instead of selecting it in the game?

Can you elaborate? Have you even welded the tool to the right hand?
If not, try that and make the hand the part 0 and the tool part1.
