I’ve been working on an underwater ocean environment for the past week and wanted to share my progress with you. I’m aiming for a lively, immersive underwater scene, and I’d love any suggestions on how to make it feel even more alive!
I love the terrain, as it fits the underwater ocean, and what I love most is … First of all, I LOVE the tint of the underwater screen effect, it’s perfect! And second of all… My display name is Ocean.. Such a co-incidence!
I suggest you continue with this work, I’m excited to see how it will turn out in the future!
Looks cool! I think there’s too much empty space that can be filled out, for example: Subnautica has large kelp forest things for example, and adds a lot more height variation with arches, caves, and whatnot. That might help hide a bit of the emptiness. Effects and visuals could of course also help with the liveliness. Also, the light beams I do like them being used, but them facing at random directions kinda looks odd to me, i don’t know about that though
This looks very promising. I would look forward to seeing it evolve in the future.
I would recommend that you further improve the graphics, such as better lighting, but I actually prefer that you implement something called Caustics to the scene. If you add Caustics, it can really elevate the ambience of the showcase and further add depth to it.
You can see the impact this has on the ambience of the game. I’ll post a link showcasing this.
But this looks WONDERFUL already, so keep up the great work!
Oh what!!! Wow thank you so much I was looking for something like this for hours, I ended up making my own system but this one looks way better. I will definitely try do make something like that.
