Underwater travel

So basically I am building this thing, where I would have a submarine thing. Is there a way to make it so that water can’t go inside the submarine when it goes down? I have checked other solutions but none seems to work with terrain water. My guess is that I can make a region inside the submarine that would be dried off, but then I can’t figure out a way to place them back. I also can’t just make it float around since I have areas other than underwater areas. Any help?

What many other games do is they just turn the lighting to blue and add some haze and fog while the submarine floats in mid air. You could probably do something like that

I probably should’ve mentioned that my game has areas other than underwater, I will add that in.

You could always just have a constant check or maybe a region or even a part and turn the effects on/off depending on if they’re in “water”

I don’t think you’re idea would work but it did give me an idea that would work which is similar to yours.
