Unfair terminations with "moderation date" one year ago

Hello, recently one of my friends’ friends got terminated on Roblox for no reason.
Their account was working just fine until a few days ago when they received a termination which apparently shows 2024 as their moderation date?
They’ve been able to use this account up until last week, despite the moderation showing as april 2024.

At first I thought this might’ve been an issue on their side and their account was probably moderated because of an alt, however I noticed this has also happened to some other users on Twitter.

These users also have THE SAME ban reason & similar issues with a different moderation date.
I’m not sure what is going on here and I’m not sure if this is supposed to happen.

I understand that these accounts might be banned for enforcement taken against another account, but this feels unfair having said their bans are listed as being a year ago.
I believe this is a mistake on the AI moderation’s side and these accounts should be unbanned.

I also found this other tweet from “DramfionRBX”, where their sibling & cousins lost accounts due to this same bug in 2024, which matches their account’s ban. https://x.com/DramfionRBX/status/1871217513570459944

As somebody who’s income is primarily coming from Roblox, I would like to know what’s going on and if this issue could be fixed because random terminations are always scary.

The same thing happened to me, my main account was terminated on March 30th, although I was previously terminated on November 4th, 2024, I was terminated on November 5th, 2024 according to the review, although it was deserved and I understand it, although your account was terminated due to a moderation error.Have you done anything to get unbanned or something else?

I haven’t been banned myself, I posted my friend’s screenshot as they’ve been affected by it.

They tried contacting support with no success

The moderation date it shows is the date when an account that was linked to his was terminated for clarification

This was due to a ban wave that occured during the post of this topic.

Quick question, Not hating btw

Since this may be an important bug/glitch (It may be not) that one friend can’t report that bug.

Since they didn’t got any response from support, The best way of getting communication is through the devforums, Which are unfortunately locked for a specific group of people.

Or does this rule apply anyway here? I am not sure lmk if I’m wrong. :stuck_out_tongue:

(Also please excuse my bad English, I am not that good at it)

As stated in the Roblox Developer Forum Rules, you may not post on the behalf of non - Developer Forum members in any category except Bulletin Board. So yes that rule does apply here as stated by the rules.

No, do not follow in the footsteps of this user and post on behalf of others. This isn’t allowed in most cases, especially when it comes to moderation— engineers cannot discuss users’ moderation status with anyone other than the user who is moderated.

For this reason, this report will likely not be addressed in any meaningful capacity. @idelww

Yes, you’re on the right track: IMO this report is valid because the OP has provided enough info for it to be investigated and has shown how this issue has impacted multiple users. He can probably provide the support ticket # if needed, so CS can follow up. I think most are aware of how CS is overwhelmed and doesn’t respond well. This was a last resort.

On a side note, normal forum users don’t have the authority to determine whether a report is valid. I don’t understand why some of the replies are so cold: I guarantee you if their accounts were banned, and they read the entire report, they’d care more about it. This report hasn’t been closed by staff, so it’s technically still valid.

I’m pretty sure a year or two ago, KreekCraft and many other users got terminated for things they did years ago, but their profiles were still up and viewable as if there was no moderation action applied to their accounts. Although this seems to be different, as I cannot view their profile like what happens in a normal account termination.

Thanks for clarifying this, I wouldn’t do it anyways but i thought this rule may not apply in certain circumstances, Its always good to keep the forums inside of the rules.

Dev forum’s not the right place for us to discuss specific accounts, but what you’re describing does sound like it could be alt related. The best course of action would be to appeal through the support form.

I understand that incorrect alt propagations can be frustrating. The team is constantly working to improve our alt propagation
