Union being a different colour

I’m not sure if this is the correct category to post in, but I’ve known of this colour displacement for a long time now, and I assume a lot of other members will know about it too. If you union a part, there seems to be a different tint of shade to the part, compare it to a part with the same colour, which isn’t unioned, you can see a big difference; and is irritating once you notice it.

Here’s a screenshot of an example (Dark Stone Grey, left part is a part and right is a union)

If anyone could explain this phenomenon I’d greatly appreciate it, as this is really irritating when building with unions.

[EDIT] UsePartColor is enabled, so this isn’t the cause.

I forgot to comment, UsePartColor is enabled.

I’m not 100% sure if this fixes this but have you tried turning off outlines?

Yes, this is the issue! Thank you so much for the solution, this has been bugging me for a long time now!

Yep, there’s a random color offset applied when outlines are on. I’m not really sure what the point is, but someone had a reason…

Very odd…
