Unlock FPS Limits for High-End Mobile Devices (e.g., 120Hz Support)

As a Roblox player and developer, it is currently too hard to fully utilize the hardware capabilities of modern high-end mobile devices. Currently, the mobile client is strictly capped at a 60 FPS limit. While this is understandable for battery optimization on older devices, it severely limits the potential of flagship devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which possess powerful cooling systems and 120Hz+ displays. In highly competitive games, this frame rate cap negatively impacts input latency and mechanical precision.

If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my development and gaming experience because mobile players with capable hardware would no longer be at an artificial disadvantage when competing against PC players with 120+ FPS. The overall experience on flagship phones would feel significantly smoother, reducing input lag and utilizing the actual screen refresh rates. We kindly ask the engineering team to consider adding a native FPS unlocker or higher frame-rate cap options (90/120 FPS) for mobile users in future client updates.

Competitive Equity: It levels the playing field for mobile players in skill-based competitive games. ​Fluidity and Reduced Stutter: Allowing higher refresh rates matches the modern standard of mobile hardware, creating a more responsive UI and gameplay loop. ​Optional Implementation: This does not need to be forced. An “Unrestricted” or “120 FPS” toggle in the Settings menu—with a clear warning about potential battery impact—would empower users to choose their preferred experience.

fr, the modern iphones will even do fancy ray tracing in some games and will still go above 60 fps depending on the game

60Hz has been “outdated” for a decade at this point, everyone not on a cheap walmart device with a 1mah battery should experience 90Hz+

Hardware capabilities have outpaced current software limitations:
