Upcoming Changes to Avatar Catalog Upload Requirements

That’s quite interesting… Although, do you know if 3D clothes are going to work similar to the UGC catalog? Because it would be a real shame if 3D clothing goes down the same route as 2D. (Constantly getting stolen, low quality, etc)

No, they shouldn’t. It is like removing R6 just because Rthro appeared

They could remove R6 at any given time…

All I know is just hearsay from the DevForum, but I assume it would be similar to UGC at least to begin with. Uploading meshes in general were the same way but then eventually opened up to everyone to my remembrance.

Didn’t say that. Please read again.

Okay, what’s the fee? Last time I saw, it was 100 robux. That doesn’t seem very fair to me, if I were to do something like that, it’d be you paying the price of the item, and changing the price will come with the fee of the new price, too.

I hope Roblox doesn’t change their mind about this because of the backlash.

This is what I thought, nothing on the poll for this lol.

Tysm ROBLOX. As a creator i always wanted to upload shirts on the platform but never had a chance to buy premium. It feels soo good that i can finally upload shirts on roblox without having to pay irl money.
For me this is a really good change as both sides are profitable. Again thank you.

Then what’s the point of creating anything? If Roblox does it all, then they would need the staff to do it. If Roblox does it all, then you are just saying to clothing designers, “we don’t need you, you’re redundant, and your work isn’t appreciated.” Get my point? Going by this logic, then Roblox should be the only ones making games. No creativity. No freedom to wear whatever you want to. No variety of things to wear. No other options. You’re stuck with what they give you, and if you want something custom for yourself you’re dead out of luck. Roblox wants creativity, that’s their money maker. They’re a corporation, they want money.

Regardless of the controversial fee, I believe the testing within studio feature is handy and will make workflow significantly easier without having to upload assets over and over again. The amount of times I’ve had to constantly re-upload something and wait for it to pend is absurd.

Well, robux costs irl money, I’m not sure what you’re saying here.

Eh, we don’t know, I’m just going off what they did last time when they accidentally released it.

Yes it does but sometimes. You have robux but dont have the permission to pay irl money. MONTHLY. I earned all the robux by working for other people. I didnt buy robux. The fact that i can buy it with the robux that i earned on the platform itself makes it soo much better.

Yeah, I was gonna say DevEx but, that requires quite a lot of robux, I understand your point.

Yeah, but this is messing up small designers. They can’t afford to spend 100 robux (200 for shirts and pants) Plus, paying premium MONTHLY is cheaper then buying 100 robux per clothes. If you don’t make robux off of being a small designer, your screwed.

We’ve only seen the 100 robux fee in the accidental release, we’re unsure if this is the true cost.

So what’s the point of Premium if you guys keep removing features that have been with Premium since it came out?

Uploading clothing was just a bonus for premium. This allows more users to upload clothing.

I guess. But when there’s benefit, there’s always someone’s loss. Taking everything though, Roblox can make it so that people who upload shirts frequently get a discount or something. That would be epic.
