Update on Verified Badge Requirements for Experiences

[Update] November 19, 2025

Hi Creators,

A while back, we paused granting verified badges to experience contributors due to reports about group owners selling the verification badge. Please keep in mind that selling the verified badge will lead to Roblox revoking your status and potentially result in moderation action on your account.

We’re sharing an update about our verified badge requirements for experiences. As of today, we have updated the requirements on this page to the following:

  • Before: You are an owner of an experience with playtime exceeding 1M hours in the last 90 days.
  • Updated Requirements: You are an owner or have a 10%+ automatic group payout of an experience with >1M playtime hours in the last 90 days.

Over the coming weeks, you will see Roblox granting the verification badge to contributors who meet the updated requirements.

Thanks,
Roblox Team

FAQs

What is the definition of “10% automatic group payout” for eligibility?

This refers to being listed as receiving a 10% or greater recurring per-experience payout within the group that owns the eligible experience.

Does the required 10% payout need to be an automatic payout, or can it be a manual/direct payout?

It must be the automatic per-experience payout. Manual or direct payouts do not qualify.

Must the 10% automatic payout be calculated from the whole group’s revenue, or from the specific eligible experience’s revenue?

The automatic payout must come directly from the revenue of the specific eligible experience.

Does the Developer Exchange (DevEx) process, or the bank account used for DevEx, affect eligibility for the Verified Badge?

No, Verified Badge eligibility is calculated solely based on the group payout percentages, not the DevEx process or the destination bank account.

Do co-owners of an eligible group or experience who do not have an automatic group payout qualify for the Verified Badge?

To be eligible, the user must be the single owner user of the group that owns the experience or have a 10% or greater automatic per-experience group payout set up. Co-ownership without an automatic payout does not qualify.

Are there plans for future alternative eligibility criteria for other contributors (e.g., active commissioners, plugin developers)?

There are no immediate plans for alternatives. The current criteria of being the experience owner or having a 10% automatic group payout are the only methods for eligibility.

If I change my display name, will I automatically be re-granted the badge?

Just as before, users must retain the same display name as when they were first granted the badge. The only way to regain the badge in this case is to revert the name to the original one and contact Roblox Support to receive the badge again.

While I respect that you’ve made the decision to improve the Verified Checkmarks. I believe you’ve overlooked the problem of many Developers out there not getting said “verified checkmark” that really speaks wrong as a form of official means. As if we were fake developers.
Could it be of any possibility to modify the rules to adjust it in a way that those who have worked hard outside of making your own benefiting projects (or contributing to it as a form of a role) to actually just get verified checkmarks for showcasing the work done rather than the statistics of the game’s performance?
I’ve been here on this platform for 8 years now and it’s really dissapointing that I never got seen as one worthy of a checkmark to my profile.

Additional examples may apply to those who are also manually paid or simply contributed in a way that they’re only credited without a role. Or content used in videos outside of the platform.

This is still a bit unfortunate for contributors that get paid a flat rate instead of through the specific group payout feature. At the same time I am glad that there is some way for contributors that don’t specifically own an experience to still have the verified badge. I’m interested to see what strategies verified badge sellers will try to come up with at this point if any.

Does this mean that the 10k follower requirement is no longer needed? The page isn’t up to date for me yet

Great update, saw way too many people take advantage of the old requirements

Will this include the Developer Crowns?

This is a good update, but I think something is worded incorrectly?? Does one need to have exactly a 10% payout, or more than 10%? For example, will someone who receives more than 10% be ineligible for the verified badge?

Are there any plans to introduce verification for plugin developers? Rojo’s official upload of our plugin is through a group (to prevent one person from being loadbearing) but the group is unverified and under the current scheme always will be because we don’t develop any games.

Given that unverified creators are (as far as I know) excluded from search by default, this limits the reach somewhat.

Alternatively, are there any plans for being able to apply for manual verification? Last time we asked, we were told that it wasn’t possible. I’m not sure if things have changed though.

My team and I use manual payouts rather than the automatic percentage-based group payout system.

Would my collaborators still be eligible for the verified badge if they were manually paid at least 10% of the group’s revenue in the past 90 days? Or is it required to use the automatic percentage payouts system for this to function properly?

Probably just a wording mistake, should be 10%+ rather than JUST 10%

Why, equity specifically? this doesn’t make sense. I would prefer if you guys changed it to a certain amount of robux payed out from a community that owns a qualified game. Not everyone pays out with % directly, even as a verified creator and owner of a game I don’t even get % we pay out monthly. So it doesn’t really make sense. While I think this is a step in the right direction its somewhat overlooked.

This is an amazing update imo, this is a perfect way to determine whether a (valuable) contributor is actually worthy to be verified.

Let’s hope that any attempts to sell it will actually have their status revoked. :raising_hands:t4:

verified needs to get more rare, it should only be given to very few peoples

Then just rename this stupid badge to something else, it feels like we as Developers are claimed as fakes with false background. Why “verified” amongst of all things to call it?

The wording is a bit unclear here, does this mean setting a 10% group split or experience split? Currently you can set group-wide revenue splits or per-experience splits, which one would make us eligible for this?

This was a very much needed update as someone who is a co-owner of a front page game, thank you roblox

10% group payout split?
What about groups that pay their developers with set amounts?
Nobody in our team is paid using %.

That is very good and we’re really glad that contributor badges are coming back, but 10% feels really ridiculous. No game owner with a decent amount of CCU is going to be giving away 10%, especially because like 95% of people use manual percentage instead of the automatic percentage thing.

I’ve contributed to games like Ink Game, Azure Latch and way more as a scripter and I’ve got over 170k+ followers (still no verify badge and it’s been half a year). But since these games average 10k+ to 100k+ CCU, no game owner would realistically be giving 10% because that’s just overpaying and not worth it for anyone.
