The fact you’d have to do this is wild. Nothing changes when being a direct game owner / a group owner with a game under that group.
My guess is that Roblox either forgot to separate group owners from group contributors or that this happened due to a bug. The result being that they paused both while stating they wouldn’t. I don’t see why they would specifically state that group owners would still receive badges and then do the opposite on purpose?
Unfortunately most we can do is wait and see what comes of it, since Roblox seems to prefer being radio silent on issues that don’t affect a large portion of their userbase. I’ve reached out everywhere I could think of to no avail (at most receiving an automated message) and bug reports on the matter go ignored.
