The option still exists, and since the default is on, you must manually turn it off every time you publish😬
It might still exist, who knows
when will this turmoil come to an end
4 days ago they were getting sued for training AI content. This ToS update means nothing but another legal case impending for theft.
AI cannot be constitued at the end of the day as an author of an original work by the patent and copyright office, as said by the United States Supreme Court. This update doesn’t protect their system from preventing fraud charges or waiving copyright, and it is quite surprising Roblox tries binding their ToS after losing Roblox vs. Doe where they had to refund every deleted item ever.
This one is crazy.
So we according to Roblox may not uphold the company accountable for using AI to manipulate a product we’ve bought and were denied access, example being, Dynamic Heads conversion from Classic Static Faces.
We value your input and partnership as we strive to maintain a safe and secure platform.
Haha! So true!
can the AI bubble burst already
no, that just means you will defend and hold roblox harmless from any damage you cause while using roblox.. however, under user terms section 17 roblox reserves the right to take over the defense on your behalf (without limiting your indemnification obligations with respect to that matter), and in that case, you are required to cooperate with roblox
i read the terms of use every time they’re updated, and most of the new additions are just average legal stuff to limit roblox’s liability; they’ve especially updated the language around ai
i want to highlight a few changes i found interesting:
They updated the “Online Safety” section in the User Terms, and now you can report any content that violates the Community Standards through Roblox Support by selecting “User Safety Concern.” Previously, it said you could only use Roblox Support for certain categories (for example, violent and illegal content)
You can no longer publicly share any benchmarking information according to Section 9 of the User Terms, which I’m pretty sure most creators will violate ![]()

not sure what they want from creators here, but sure ![]()

dark patterns
Oh, so its okay for Roblox to use dark patterns, but not the creators.
Full context:
In addition to any other restrictions set forth in the User Terms (including in Section 8.b. of the User Terms) or any Roblox Terms, Creator will not take any action in violation of these Creator Terms, including as set forth in this Section. Creator will comply with all laws applicable to their Experiences including but not limited to laws governing loot boxes, dark patterns, or other potentially addictive features.
So I’m assuming by “dark patterns” they mean silhouettes of unobtained content???
You can no longer publicly share any benchmarking information according to Section 9 of the User Terms, which I’m pretty sure most creators will violate
This is kinda crazy… why??
I mean why were they added that rule sneaky? it’s like so company behavior who likes intransparency.
