Uploading a transparent badge image becomes distorted

I encountered an issue while attempting to upload a new badge in PNG format. Unfortunately, the image became distorted during the process. It appears that the system inadvertently converted the PNG file to a JPG format, which resulted in the loss of transparency. Furthermore, I’ve been unable to update the badge image post-upload, as every attempt to do so results in an error.

Here is how the image appears after the upload:

Png (4)

However, it was intended to look like this:

Png (3)

I have previously uploaded the same badges without any issues, which leads me to conclude that the problem lies with Roblox’s system and not with my actions.

Thanks for reporting. We’ve released a fix for this recently. Do new uploads of the badge image still have this problem?

I just uploaded a new badge and the problem still exists.

Got it. I looked into it and the fix was released for badge updates but not creation. It’s now deployed for creation. Is this fixed for you now?

The issue I was experiencing has been resolved, thank you! However, I’ve encountered a new problem: I’m now unable to upload a new image to an existing badge. Whenever I attempt to save the changes, I receive the following error message:

Save badge changes failed. Try again.

Which badge are you seeing this problem with?

Pretty much every single badge, this one for example: https://create.roblox.com/dashboard/creations/experiences/21059714/badges/4295938638449708/configure

It looks like this is a text moderation issue with the new badge image asset being created. The team is looking into fixing this. As a workaround for now, you can change the badge name to something else, upload a new image, then change the name back.
