Anyone know how/when we can get access to uploading backgrounds on the marketplace?

There isn’t a method as of now, Roblox has published the first Profile Backgrounds on the marketplace as defaults. They’ll let us know when the feature will be rolled out for everybody ( and let’s hope it doesn’t require us to apply for a program and get picked, like they did with UGC Animation Packs ).

Currently, the ability to upload Avatar Profile Backgrounds to the Marketplace is not available to the public or UGC creators.
As of right now, profile backgrounds and themes are strictly created and distributed by Roblox officially. There is no application process, hidden form, or beta opt-in to get access to this specific feature.
While Roblox has been continuously expanding what public UGC creators can upload (such as accessories, 3D clothing, bodies, and heads), backgrounds have not yet been unlocked for community creation.
Your best bet is to keep an eye on the Announcements category here on the DevForum. Whenever they decide to open this up to UGC creators, it will be officially announced there first!
