I am working with an artist to use one of his songs in my project. The thing is, I need to get some clarity so I know what to expect when uploading it, and how to prevent the audio from being taken down.
I have the rights to use the song, so I’m not too worried about any copyright actions, unless I need something which proves that I have the rights (e.g. a signed document). The only evidence I have are messages between me and the artist directly, which include our mutual agreement for me to use his music.
Also, I am aware of inappropriate content in songs, such as swearing or violence, so I’m making sure nothing of that is mentioned in the version I’m using in my project. But I need to make sure of a few things:
1 - If a word in the song sounds like a swear word, but isn’t (e.g. pronounced differently), will I need to filter it, or will I be good to include it?
2 - If the original song contains explicit language, but my version doesn’t, will that be okay?
I’ve looked over the Roblox documentation which has answered a lot of questions for me, but I still want to double check so I have full clarity.
