User Profiles Not Loading – 500 Internal Server Error on Summary API

As of the past few hours, user profiles on the Roblox DevForum are no longer loading for anyone except your own. Attempting to view another user’s profile (e.g., Profile - Hooksmith - Developer Forum | Roblox) results in a full-page error displaying Error code: 500 error, as shown in the attached screenshot. This issue is consistent and 100% reproducible — not an intermittent or one-off error.

The root API endpoint responsible for loading profile data, https://devforum.roblox.com/u/hooksmith/summary.json, yields indefinitely and ultimately returns an HTTP 500 error.

This behavior affects all user profiles aside from your own, rendering public profile access unusable. Please investigate as this appears to be a backend issue introduced recently.

I think the forum’s having intermittent issues. A few hours ago it went down for an hour or two, if engineers weren’t aware.
Groups like Forum moderation team - Developer Forum | Roblox also fail to load occassionally (more regularly than usual).

We have temporarily disabled user profile to investigate these intermittent issues.
We will update here once we have a solution.

I’m also experiencing some problems with the forum Summary API!

In my previous bug report, I noticed that the Activity tab is missing when viewing someone’s profile… Not only that, but I also managed to find more problems during these explorations:

  • Clicking the More Replies link under the Top Replies section does not work.
  • In the STATS section, the Solutions link is also non-functional.
  • The More Topics link under the Top Topics section does work, but you’ll notice the following issues:
    • The Activity tab is still missing from the user profile.
    • You cannot access the All category.
    • You cannot access the Replies category.
    • You cannot access the Likes category.
    • You cannot access the Solved category.

Hopefully, this can be fixed ASAP! :crossed_fingers:

can no longer replicate. there is a large delay when viewing user profiles but they do load now
