Verified Badge removed after community rename and not restored - Group ID 7916244

My community OddWorks Games (Group ID 7916244, OddWorks Games - Roblox) had the Verified Badge until today. It was removed automatically when I renamed the community from “Snatch a Seed” to “OddWorks Games” on October 1, 2026, as part of a studio rebrand.

Nothing else changed:

  • Same owner (@Accursed_Dev, which is itself verified, ID-verified, and has Authenticator enabled)
  • Same experiences (Snatch a Seed, universe 8125244608, and Petopia!, universe 10768232406)
  • No moderation action or rules violation

The rename was the only reason the badge was removed. Players now see our community, which they already know and trust, without the checkmark, right as we launch a new game under it. That also makes it easier for impersonator groups to pass as us.

I’ve also opened a Customer Support ticket, but I’d appreciate it if staff could look at re-granting the badge for the new name.

Steps:

  1. Own a verified community (Group 7916244, previously named “Snatch a Seed”)
  2. Rename the community (to “OddWorks Games”)
  3. The Verified Badge is removed and is not restored, even though ownership and authenticity are unchanged

Browser: Google Chrome on Windows 11

Expected behavior

The Verified Badge is restored for the existing, verified owner after a rebrand rename, as long as ownership and authenticity haven’t changed.

Update (October 3): Customer Support has now replied to my ticket three times. Every reply is the same: the badge was revoked automatically because of the name change, and it will only be re-granted if the community is renamed back to the exact old name (“Snatch a Seed”). I asked for a manual review of the new name, and the latest reply says they have provided all they can, so Support isn’t able to review it.

This means a verified studio has to keep its community named after its first game forever to keep the badge. For us, that would make our new game, Petopia!, show “By Snatch a Seed”, which tells players it belongs to a different game. Nothing about who we are has changed: same owner, same games, same members.

Could a staff member clarify:

  1. Is there any process for a verified community to be reviewed under a new name after a genuine rebrand?
  2. If not, could this be considered as a feature request? For example, letting verified communities request a name review before renaming, so a rebrand doesn’t cost them the badge.

I’m happy to provide any proof needed, for example a verification code in the community description. Thanks!

I’m pretty sure this is just the way it is, nothing to do about it other than just finding a name you like for the group and sticking with it until it gets verified, I might be wrong though so don’t quote me on this.
