Verified Badge removed when 2FA was disabled by Support despite request to keep it enabled

I had the Verified Badge and 2FA enabled on my Roblox account. When I lost access to my authenticator device, I contacted Roblox Support and specifically requested a 2FA re-provision (new setup) so I could continue using 2FA without losing my badge.

Despite clarifying this multiple times, support disabled my 2FA entirely and my Verified Badge was automatically removed. I never requested for 2FA to be disabled. This appears to be a system bug where badge status is tied to disabling 2FA, even in cases where the user is trying to keep 2FA enabled through re-provisioning.

I have since re-enabled 2FA on my own, but my Verified Badge has not been restored. Support continues to send me generic 2FA setup instructions instead of addressing the Verified Badge issue.

This seems like unintended behavior and may affect other developers who lose authenticator access but want to keep both their badge and 2FA active.

Expected behavior

If 2FA needs to be re-provisioned on a new device, it should not cause the Verified Badge to be removed. Developers who already earned the badge should keep it when switching authenticator devices, as long as 2FA remains enabled.

In my case, my Verified Badge should be reinstated now that I have re-enabled 2FA, since I earned it legitimately through my contributions (e.g. developer of Neighbors, a Roblox Innovation Awards game).

I agree with this post. Roblox should re-grant your badge, try contacting them again if you haven’t already. They do say in their policy that they will re-grant the badge if you enable 2FA again.

Thank you for agreeing with me, it really sucks. I have already re-enabled 2FA, the badge should be re-granted for their mistake. Support has not done this for me yet, which is why i’m raising this issue here. I have contacted them about three times now and have not received a human response.

I want a good end for this thread, but it’s not a bug, just support being horrifically incompetent as should be sadly expected by now. I’d be unironically more surprised if they actually did as requested for once.

Odds are if a staff member does reply here, they’ll probably just say the same thing.

Good luck fighting with that exact same support team to get your checkmark back.

I’m a UGC creator and recently changed my display name on accident with no warning or notification that what I was doing would lose the badge. I changed my display name on one of my accounts back and contacted support. Hopefully they can re-grant the badge too. Otherwise I’ll have to wait until the next verification wave to get it.

I completely understand what youre saying, I agree. Roblox support has been extremely difficult to work with on this. i’ve just been getting copy-paste answers that don’t address my situation at all.

The only reason i’m posting here is because there’s literally no other way for me to reach Roblox about this. thank you for wanting a good end too, and i’m hoping that by posting here, at least someone on staff might see it and help push it forward.

From what I was told there is no way to get the badge back through support. They seem to have no idea what you’re talking about, even if you show them the FAQ. Instead you have to wait 90 days to get the badge again. (There is a 90 day cooldown before you can get the badge again, from what I was told. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong)

Badge issuance is per month? At least that’s what I thought it was.
