Video upload failed, deleted 10k robux on a single upload.

Timeline of events:

Prior to uploading, I had a balance of ~11,000 robux.

  1. Through the studio asset manager, I imported a video file ~3GB in size. Link attached in private notes.
  2. Standard video upload popup reports as normal that it is 2,000 robux to upload.
  3. I confirm, begin the upload.
  4. It takes ~45 minutes to process before it fails.
  5. Error message reports that I don’t have 2k robux.
  6. I go to the roblox home page and refresh, I now only have 1,901 robux.
  7. I go to the transactions page, there is no transaction on the purchases page, nor is there any outgoing robux reported on the summary in the past 24 hours.

This file was the only upload in the batch.

Expected behavior

  1. When uploading a video (or multiple videos), an overall total should be shown prior to approval.
  2. Video uploads should be included on the Summary page.
  3. Video uploads should have transactions recorded on the Purchases page like group/rank purchases.
  4. Failed uploads (not due to moderation) should refund any robux removed.

@HakaiShin_AOD Assistance needed.

@purn8r Thanks for the report, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We are investigating this issue and will refund any incorrectly deducted Robux.

@purn8r We expect the Robux to be refunded by 7pm PST today. Can you let us know if you’re still missing Robux afterwards?

Thanks again for the report; we’re actively working to resolve bugs in the Studio uploader that can lead to these failures.

Apologies for the late reply, I have been away from my computer all day. I currently am still missing the full 10k Robux.

This happened to me the other day. I tried to upload a video & it kept failing, then it finally went through, not once, but three times. so it took 6k from my acc when I only meant to spend 2k

@purn8r Can you check one more time? We identified a bug related to the refund mechanism that we have now fixed, and you should have received a refund around 8am PST today, September 3.

@c0rr_n: Can you confirm if you have received a refund? We will investigate your issue further if not.

Thanks all for your patience as we work to make video upload more reliable. For all video uploads failing due to technical issues going forward, we expect Robux refunds to be issued at most 14 hours after the initial upload attempt.

I have received the refund, thank you for your help with this. Can I ask why the uploader didn’t report an error to me and instead just retried it on it’s own? Unfortunately I didn’t take a screenshot of the error message it did give me but it only mentioned that I didn’t have 2k robux to upload, nothing about the previous attempts failing to do so.

Thanks guys, I’m not too fussed about refunds or not what, the video we uploaded ended up getting moderated, so it’s fine!

Thank you though!
