Vip V1.2 - My newest plugin

So I’ve always had a problem with the existing set of mainstream building plugins. I used to use my own hacky modified version of CmdUtl 3.0. But it was a bit of a mess, and I needed something more. I wanted to make one plugin to rule them all.
Its goal is to make building as fast as possible, removing any manual tasks you may encounter, as well as being useful for EVERYONE who uses it. It’s also meant to replace any other building plugin you may have.

So I created my own plugin, Vip.

It has basically every feature in CmdUtl, Build V4, and F3X combined, and many more features that I’ve come up with myself.
It’s flow is very much similar to the Linux text editor, Vi(m), where it can do almost anything you tell it to, and it’s all based in keybinds.

Like seriously, there’s only two clickable buttons, both of them for the “Help” menu in case you need a cheat sheet.
It comes with a tutorial called “VipTutor”, similar to vimtutor, where it’s a hands-on learning experience of what Vip can do, and how powerful it can become once you start getting used to its controls.

I’ve spent more time into this plugin than I have on any other one of my plugins, and I am constantly updating it based off of features suggested by users. If you ever want another feature added, PM me, and I’ll most likely add it.

It has an API, completely re-makes Roblox’s selection system to be almost seamlessly similar, cleans itself up better than any other plugin I’ve seen on Roblox, and it should be a replacement for any other building plugin you currently use.

Anyways, this plugin is meant to replace any main building plugins that you are currently using. If there is any reason why it isn’t doing so, I would very much like to know why, so that I may fix it and make it even better.

Is this for Studio or in-game building?

For studio, however, I may work on an in-game version soon. Shouldn’t be too hard, since Vip remakes most of everything.

Nice. However some people like buttons. I for one don’t want to have to memorize all of those hotkeys. A few of the frequent ones you should make buttons for.

haven’t used the tool but it sounds like you need a help menu as well that shows you all of the hotkeys

The problem with doing that, is that adding an option to make clickable buttons will mess up the intended building style. Nobody wants to memorize hotkeys. That’s why you shouldn’t have to try to memorize it. The purpose of Vimtutor was never to give you a cheat sheet, in the same way that VipTutor isn’t meant to.

As hard as it is to get used to at first, once you use it a lot, you won’t need to think about which key to press before you press it. It will come naturally after using it.

Vi doesn’t have a “Nano” mode, that would just be silly. For those who get discouraged by the building style, and are really against to doing work for the plugin can simply use CmdUtl and other similar plugins.

Can you make the help window draggable & also have bigger text? For the first few hours using it I wanna use it as a cheat sheet lol

Edit: Also can you make a way to deselect the part from the explorer but keep the axis mover on it, so we can do super precise movement?
