Virus Replicating Itself

Alright so I was looking in toolbox seeing gun models and stuff. Until I inserted a free model and saw a virus. I tried to delete it but it kept replicating itself. This had me curious since the game wasn’t running.

People also told me this is because of my plugins which i verified its not and only occurred when i inserted the free model.
The game is also not running.

I want to know:

  1. How is this possible
  2. How could I delete this virus

Video showing the virus:

(many people are getting confused on what I’m trying to achieve. I’m trying to know how it can replicate itself and what can we do in the future to delete this. This is not an on going problem)

(let me know if this is the right category to ask, thanks!)

That’s, a bit weird.
I don’t think you can solve this other than reverting back to an old stage of your project.
Hopefully this helps on deleting the virus.

Does deleting the model stop this from happening? If this is a concern then I would stray away from using this model and consider other options.

Did you write anything in the command bar?

This is probably due to a malicious plugin running.

Couple of questions.

  • Did you use any free models? If so, can you please specify which models they are, their like and dislike ratio, and the user who published them?

  • Did you install any plugins? If so, can you specify which plugins you installed, their like and dislike ratio, and the user who published them?

No it dosen’t it replicates to almost anything. Even after I delete the model.

No I didn’t. It was a fresh baseplate

As I said I was looking for guns in the toolbox specifically (AAC Honey Badger). Unfortunately I couldn’t remember the author or the dislike ratio. But it was a mesh.

No I’m certain it was from the model since all of my plugins are from verified creators.

Could you show us the entire list by going into manage plugins and screenshot all of the plugins?

There are a ton of plugins out there that are viruses, it not showing up as a virus in the Plugin tab doesn’t mean there isn’t any there.

Of the list of plugins, which of the F3X Building Tools plugins listed here are the ones you used? Too many of them seem to be fakes and I can’t help but think you installed a malicious clone. Or, to make it easier for me and anybody else can you post a screenshot of your whole plugins list so I can see the names of the “developers”? If they aren’t the real developer then it’s most likely one of those plugins causing you the problems you mentioned in the OP.

idk, but I think I might’ve found part of the source code.

Would also be nice if you’d check if you get redirected to a group page instead of a profile on some plugins, people usually abuse the group feature to impersonate users and trick kids into thinking that it’s a real plugin when in reality it’s not

I’d say the Blender rig plugin seems suspicious, in that video it says the name of the plugin is just “Blender plugin”, while the real plugin is called “Blender rig exporter/animation importer”.

I already checked all of my enabled plugins. All of them are from the original user. Plus the virus came from inside the model and I’ve only had this issue now.

If it came from a model then you should try removing models you’ve inserted lately.
