Visuality allows for rapid visibility changing on Models, Parts, UI and more for a streamlined development experience when creating your experiences. Free. Forever.
Let's take a look:
When you install, two buttons will appear. One is your toggle button, this toggles an object’s transparency or whether it is enabled or disabled.
To get started, highlight an object in your game you’d like to make invisible. I’ll be using this model of a tree. Visuality also works with models, and ignores already transparent parts so your invisible borders will not change.
Click this visuality button, and a popup will appear. Due to technical limitations, visuality cannot hide things for only you, so every other team member will be able to see this change. This is to alert you of this.
To get your model back, press the icon again. To see the original popup every time you want to use visuality, go into settings and enable “Always ask for confirmation”
Settings
Visuality’s settings page is incredibly simple. Access it by clicking on “Settings”
Once clicked, you should see the following menu:
“Always ask for confirmation” will show the confirmation menu every time visuality is used.
“Clear Visuality Settings On Selected Parts” will delete any attributes controlled by visuality. NOTE: This does NOT restore any transparencies. Make sure your parts are visible before doing this!
“Clear ALL Visuality Data” will remove all visuality data within a game and for your own plugin. Use at your own risk.
This plugin is basically for lazy people who don’t want to individually set the transparency of a model. Nifty, if you ask me, but a little too simplistic.
Should add a window where it collects hidden objects so that you don’t have to look through that model again to manage individual hidden stuff.
I was thinking that something like this layer plugin would fulfill that need.
I don’t understand the problem that this current topic solves. If you’re going to make visual instances transparent, why do you remark that the element will be hidden for other Team Create members?
Is the intention to hide it only in Studio’s edit mode? Or, are you solving the problem of manually changing instance properties for hidden behavior on play?
If you’re aiming to solve the problem of a cluttered view just for editing the workspace, should you not look into LocalTransparencyModifier?
NOTE: This does NOT restore any transparencies. Make sure your parts are visible before doing this!
I wrote about a trick that you can implement to retain the original states of transparencies:
Yeah, I can see why this can be useful. But is a confirmation menu and a settings button really necessary for a glorified transparency toggle? It’s just funny too me idk.
I get that, the initial idea was to be something like the tool on blender which hides your meshes, unfortunately that wasn’t possible so I just kinda stuck the menu there just in case people were thinking that the plugin only hid it in viewport.
I could release an update to the plugin to restore the transparencies on plugin reset, I’m just thinking of whether that would be something that people would like the button to do rather than it just wipe the data
Will update the plugin later today with a viewport visuals toggle using the property that @trigophi said about. Thanks for the comments
I’ll also try and start on the panel for instances affected by visuality, I did want one but thought I might as well release and get feedback
Yeah, I made this before I knew your plugin existed! I’ll still use the one I’ve made but I do like the one you have. Btw I’ve just updated my plugin to support local transparencies
