[Voluntary] Looking For Game Testers

Looking For Game Testers

About Me

Happy SpookTober! My name is SnaggleTeef. I’m a single Dev building my portfolio, I’ve been Scripting, Building, Level Designing, Animating for roughly 2 weeks and I want to build fun games. (Who doesn’t right?) Passionate about my projects and building my arsenal of knowledge to keep games bug free and fun. No prior knowledge of any scripting language but do have about 15 years of I.T. Background, take with it what you will. Hence why I’m asking for feedback on my 2 week old game.

More about Me if your so inclined.

I’m 32 will be 33 on the 27th of October… 10 more days ladies and gents… Father of 5. Most recently a set of twin boys who are now 6 months. (“But Snaggle” ~ I hear you say ~ “How were you able to put together a game with no knowledge of scripting or Roblox in general with 5 kids?” I have a great wife that helps me and I’ve not been working for some time… Thank you Pandemic…) But I feel like I’ve found a real passion for something while I’m searching for work. It keeps my mind occupied and I’m learning Lua coding in the process. Hoping to get a portfolio built up with solo games so that I can be a reputable person to work with others in the future or bring another great game idea to life with my leadership.

About The Game

Published on 10/11/20 but only after I had to incorporate dataStores. The game is 2 weeks old. Halloween style Obby. Color pallet houses lots of Orange and Black, 98% of the stage design are assets I’ve created with the help of other Obby’s ideas. 2% free assets for functions I could not create at the time and worked (I.E. Conveyor systems) I created it not to further my building technique, but to further my scripting ability. Data saves on disconnect, Teleports are to lobby and back to the last checkpoint you’ve visited. Inventory for Pets gained from an egg hatching system. Currently only 45 Stages so it will not be a time sync testing it. (I’m not monetizing the game… yet, Simply testing)

More about the game if your so inclined.

Obby’s seemed like a good place to start, Use core Roblox mechanics to build a platformer. Focus on coding checkpoints, a teleportation system, and other small items that wouldn’t take up a whole new dedication to core code writing to make everything work. Found a lot of tutorials online, I’m sure you know I’ve seen at least one person pop up quite a bit while learning. And if you look below in the aesthetics of the game and see my Game Explorer, You’ll see my mess of assets strewn all over and its getting cluttered quite a bit. This is because, as I’m adding things and trying to incorporate them specifically for my game. And I’m still quite new to it.

Over view of the aesthetic.

I’m simply looking for feedback, this consists mainly of, if you’ve found a bug besides what’s listed in game on the wall. If something isn’t working for you, Recently mobile users weren’t able to teleport, I’ve since fixed that. Have an idea that could make it more fun? I’d love to hear it. Did you have fun? I’d love to hear that too. (My kids love it, But I feel like they just say that cause you know… I’m the Dad?)

What I’m not looking for. People to code, build, animate, ect. I’d simply love feedback.

You can test it here: [Hard] Halloween Obby [Saving] [Pets] - Roblox

Are you paying people to test out the game?

Unfortunately no, I’m looking for volunteers. It’s only 45 levels so not by any means completed.

Definitely one of the more high-effort obbies, nice job @SnaggleTeef!

It’s a nice obby. Especially if you’ve been into development for only 2 weeks. One thing you could improve, is that if you die and one of your bodyparts touches the next checkpoint, you are on the next checkpoint. That shouldn’t be possible.

Wow ty lol its my first game ever. Plan on adding levels this weekend and implementing a sell system for pets!

I believed to have fixed this ill run through my code and make sure if health is 0 then you don’t get it. Thank you

Implementing a sell system took all weekend getting it to work on my game. So levels are fixing to get steam rolled, still need to fix where players die and still get checkpoint though

Also due to the Pandemic I am so bored… Count me in! What do I need to do? Here’s my discord anyways. Snarky#0001!

Just play, like you would any game, try and break it by doing things others might to disrupt the gameplay?
