[VS] War Initiative Management Program

War Initiative Management Program (W.I.M.P.)

Objective: The purpose of this program is to provide Vortex Security members the opportunity to learn real experiences in leading, pre-planning, and decision-making. The war department deals with all external clan interactions, in regard to raids, defenses, and of course war. By joining the War Initiative Management Program, you are providing yourself the skills needed in all Vortex Security high ranks.

Application: All Vortex Security members looking to join the W.I.M.P. program must be expected to communicate well. This means having Discord installed, and preferably having a microphone to accompany it. Along with this, war initiates are expected to keep their demeanor during any raid or defense they may be leading; if a raid leader is dysfunctional, the raid is sure to fall apart. To get into the program itself, you must first be a Lieutenant in Vortex Security. Then, you must send a short message to either the Director or co-Director(s) of the War Department. Within your message, you should include what makes you ideal for the position without going into immense detail; the briefer the message, the more likely you are to be accepted. Along with this, include the fact of whether or not you have Discord, as well as a microphone. Those applying without Discord will either be instantly denied, or told to install it. If you include in your application about a lack of having a microphone, be sure to provide quality reasoning behind why you feel you can still effectively lead during an event as a War Initiate. Applications approved or denied shall be left at the discretion of the Director and co-Director(s), however, a message regarding acceptance or denial will be responded.

Ranking (from lowest to highest):
War Initiate: Vortex Security members approved into the W.I.M.P. program.
War Officer: War Initiates who have successfully won two raids. War Officers may host events on their own. Members of Vortex Security who are the rank Brigadier General or higher may automatically receive the rank of War Officer should they want to join the W.I.M.P. program. The rank of Captain shall be given to those who reach War Officer.
War Commander: War Officers who have shown their worth in leading successful events to be entrusted in supervising events for War Initiates. War Commanders may take charge of supervised events held by War Initiates if they deem it necessary. Those who reach the rank of War Commander will be recommended for the rank of Colonel by the co-Director(s) and the Director.
Co-Director: Does everything a War Commander does, while also assisting the Director in matters they need help with. The Co-Director(s), along with the Director, are in charge of applications from Vortex Security members applying into the W.I.M.P. program. The co-Director(s) must be at least the rank of Colonel, and a recommendation for the rank of Brigadier General may be made at the discretion of the Director.
Director: The person in charge of the War Department of Vortex Security. Employs co-Directors.

Event Guidelines: The W.I.M.P. program involves its events at any current Vortex Security fort or an enemy base. These events do not always demand success when conducted; the W.I.M.P. program is more concerned with providing its members the skills needed in the field they find themselves in. The following are considered acceptable goals at events: having a kill-death-ratio that is considered satisfactory, controlling a specific location at an event for a specific set amount of time, successfully reaching a position on a map without being detected by the enemy, leading a raid that ends with a win, or showcasing effective communication and tactics to achieve a desired goal.

Expectations: Expectations vary from rank-to-rank within the W.I.M.P. program, but expect them to be the following: War Initiates are expected to host their two successful events over the span of three weeks, otherwise they will be removed from the W.I.M.P. program.War Officers are expected to record Vortex Security members who attend events, as well as relay to a War Commander about the possibility of promotions to specific members who attended the event. If ever a War Officer needs assistance in handling a situation, they are expected to contact a War Commander for specific help. War Officers are expected to host one event every week. A successful event is considered an event that meets any of the goals described in the previous paragraph. War Officers that are Brigadier General or higher in Vortex Security, as part of their one-event-a-week quota may choose between hosting an event for the War Dept. or for the Training Dept. Continuous unsuccessful events can and will result in the possibility of a suspension to any War Officer or War Commander. War Officers, as well as War Initiates, should also know to not be afraid to discipline members attending their event; it is your event, handle your event the way you choose. If you as a War Initiate or War Officer that needs to dismiss a member during an event and they refuse to leave, communicating with the enemy (those with admin) is allowed and works with forced removal.

VS War Initiative Management Program - Units

Objective: The role of a “unit” for the War Initiative Management Program is to have specific members during a raid go to a specific point on the map. By having and using units effectively, raid leaders hosting their raids can be ensured that crucial points are held, thus allowing for a successful raid.

Assigning Units: During a rally before a raid, the raid leader should, along with their game plan for the raid, bring up the possibility for having units. In order for this to happen, the raid leader is expected to have scouted the base they will be raiding to get ideas as to where units will be needed at. There is no limit on the number of units for a raid, but the raid leader should only assign units for positions on a map that they know will be crucial for their raid to hold. Along with determining where units will be on the map, the raid leader should state how many members of his/her raid will be needed for a specific unit. The raid leader must make sure that at least one member of a unit has a microphone for effective communication. The raid leader will then tell members of their raid about which unit they will be in, and where they will be assigned to on the map. The raid leader is expected to have clear communication with the units they have assigned, to ensure that their units are performing the task assigned to them during the raid.

Guidelines of a Unit: Those that are assigned to a unit are expected to show maturity, as well as dedication to their specific job assigned to them for being in that unit. Should a raid leader come across a member of their raid who is not following the job assigned to them within a unit, that raid leader may dismiss that member by means of contacting the enemy for them to use admin to forcefully remove that member. Members who show disobedience to the raid leader by not listening to them are entitled to proper punishment should a War Commander approve of it.

Ensuring a successful Unit: The biggest key to assigning a successful unit is to have a thought-out plan, as well as effective communication. A unit that listens to its raid leader will be a successful unit during a raid.

VS War Initiative Management Program - Raid Reports

Who needs to submit a Raid Report: Any member of the War Initiative Management Program who hosts a raid is expected to submit a raid report. Quota is met based on those members who submit their raid reports in the War Department text channel in the Vortex Security Discord.

What needs to be included in a Raid Report:
The following information must be included in all raid reports:

Title - Formatted as such “VS RAID ON (group name), (time and date) LED BY (raid leader) SUPERVISED BY: (War Commander or higher) [Note: Supervisions are only required for War Initiates] (status) [Any of the following based on the raid outcome: VICTORY, RETREAT, OUT OF TIME, SHUTDOWN, MISC.]"

Basic summary of how the raid went - Should contain at least a paragraph (3 or more sentences) of your original game plan for the raid, as well as includes any possible units you may have assigned. Names of members in each unit is also expected to be listed. Include the performance of the units, and the entire raid itself.

Positives - List all things that went especially well at the raid. Include what should be expected next time.

Negatives - List all things that went especially wrong at the raid. Include what should be expected next time.

Sample Raid Report:
VS RAID ON ARVORIAN CONFEDERATION, 5:00 PM EST 01/14/17 LED BY SD01 SUPERVISED BY LordKurloz: VICTORY

OUTLINE: War Initiate SD01 was capable of leading a successful raid against AC by using an effective game plan, as well as excellent communication with his units. SD01 had two units, them being a unit on the cliffs, and a unit in the basement of the terminal building. Those on the cliffs unit consisted of: VERT752, MARIOCRUSHER, and exceedrc1. Those in the basement unit consisted of: holymeowsers, Kuas, and LordKurloz. The plan SD01 had was to initiate a mass rush at the start of the raid to capture the terminal right away, and have his units get into their respected positions as soon as possible. This plan proved to be effective, as our numbers overwhelmed AC, and we captured the terminal within a short amount of time. Throughout the raid duration, not once did we lose the terminal, and after 20 minutes of holding the terminal, we emerged victorious with a victory over Arvorian Confederation.

POSITIVES: Communication was extremely effective among the two units, as well as War Initiate SD01.

NEGATIVES: A few times AC were able to reach the terminal, but we were able to thwart them off. A good way to prevent this next time is have three people on the terminal itself, rather than just one.

Who can write a Raid Report: For War Initiates hosting a raid, the War Commander who supervised their raid is expected to submit the raid report. War Commanders are allowed to grant permission to War Initiates to write their own raid report, but they must review it before they post it in the Vortex Security Discord War Department text channel. War Officers and War Commanders are expected to write their own raid reports.

W.I.M.P. Director LordKurloz
