Want to Lean Methods for creating and Studying Visual FX

I was wondering what the best way to learn particle effects is. I’ve watched many YouTube guides and there isn’t much complexity or nuance to most of the tutorials on there. There are many guides showcasing the basic in and outs of using the sliders and tools in studio but not many active Photoshop/other design tool tutorials on how to create these effects in the first place. Normal PS tutorials DO help to an extent but aren’t quite specialized on what I am trying to learn.

I am also curious on how people get replicas/copies of popular games, like pls donate. I would like to learn how particles/VFX like that are created, but currently don’t have enough knowledge at present to do so.

Any help is appreciated.

I agree that it is hard to find comprehensive VFX tutorials out there. Aside from a few tutorials, one thing that I found that was helpful was to look at existing effects. I found a great resource that includes a number of particle effects along with a handful of other equally useful build assets.

I wanted to add here too JamPro, a yt’er that I have learned a bit from for achieving some neat effects. In the community tab there is a link to a place where he links various packs of vfx assets for people to use.
