Hello everyone!

Hope yall doin’ well!

As I am developing my latest project with my team it has had me wondering.

Is suicide – or suicidal elements allowed in roblox games?

- IMPORTANT -

Its NOT anything like roluette or anything, its a post apocylytic game similar to dying light 1/2

So with that being said, in a expected zombie like game there will be those whom choose to take what they call the “easy way out” but I am just worried about if that would be allowed.

Its nothing gruesome or anything simply a quick way mostly–

Moderate Examples -WARNING-

A few that came to mind were of such;

Using some sort of gun to the head

Drowning

Hung.

Or poisioned self.

But again NOT gruesome, as for I would also being doing out of view deaths. An example of that being like;

TL;DR - WARNING -

For those who dont know or dont recall the scene, this is from tarzan where clayton is hung to his death after getting stuck in vines. His corpse’s shadow is shown when the lighting strikes showing it suspended in the air for a breif moment.

This is not only my main question – is on purpose of it allowed?

By that I mean another person causing this? – By all means not everyone gets along, there is always people in it for themselves or just what their will to live is during this time.

Yet another example I have is TWD - (The Walking Dead)

In that . . . it happens . .. ALOT – but again it wont be anything gruesome to that max. Just want a better understanding.

The game itself will be hyper realistic but in roblox bounds of-course

If it would be better for me to show the current ones my team has to better level this out I wouldnt have a problem with that eighter.

Just know I can’t show as much as for I dont want to leak this – as for its quite a big project we are releasing soon.

on roblox, according to the community standards (https://about.roblox.com/community-standards,)

it explicitly says methods for suicide are not allowed on the platform. It also gives the same example that you gave: “This includes content that promotes ingestion of substances that would cause physical harm.” so according to roblox what you asked would not be allowed.

however, this appears to be gray area because there is an example of a game on roblox that has some of these methods of suicide. decaying winter is a survival game that has an animation that plays when you reset in game that makes you shoot yourself in the head and also has an enemy that hangs from her neck. currently, this game is not banned on roblox.

roblox’s rules surrounding this appears to inconclusive and they allow certain games to have suicide mechanics. i believe you have two options:

  1. include all of these suicide methods as a mechanic in your game and risk the possibility of being banned

  2. alternatively make a more tame version of suicide such as environmental suicide where you can jump off a cliff

my point of view on this is that suicide isnt allowed but its not always enforced. so you could add them but your game might be banned when roblox feels like it

Thank you for taking your time to explain!

I would like to clarify – its not promoting it like (hey you should go do it)

An its not the player doing it eighter, its simply npcs in the game tied to the storyline

Also I recently found out that pressure has suicidal elments aswell – even an item in game that is like a gun that basically when picked up posseses you, you must then spam a key in order to lower your hand to that you dont kill yourself.

The entitity is like a ghost that trys to make you kill your self with the gun you picked up essentially.

I would like to note that the games overall play is not about the suicide – just simply to express the loss of hope an humanity.

Apologies if I explained it weird, I didnt mean to ephasize on the death this an that, just was trying to make sure anyone reading would understand! –

Just for the safety of me an my team, I will simply remove it as a whole.
