This topic was created to warn developers about the Studio AI assistant – heavily promoted and praised by Roblox itself – which is currently acting as a trap for creators.
About a week ago, I encountered a critical issue. I am the developer of a maritime-themed game, and I decided to test the capabilities of the Studio AI assistant to create a character mesh for my project. To do this, I entered a standard prompt: “generate_mesh realistic skinny ship captain character”. It seems logical, doesn’t it? Just a character mesh.
The assistant generated a mesh relatively quickly. I reviewed it but wasn’t satisfied with the result – at least I gave it a try. But that’s where the nightmare began. Instead of a usable asset, I instantly received a notification in my browser stating that my account had been hit with a 7-day ban for uploading “sexual content”.
(Note: The last time I manually uploaded a decal or texture was about a month ago, so this was 100% caused by the AI tool).
I immediately used the appeal function, describing the situation exactly as it happened. A moment later, it was rejected. That’s when I realized the initial appeal process is completely automated by the same flawed bot. However, about half an hour later, I received an official email notification stating that my appeal had been reviewed and APPROVED.
I assumed someone had identified the error and restored my account access. But no. I tried different devices and browsers, but the 7-day suspension screen persists. More than 5 days have passed since the approval email. I’ve written to Roblox Support multiple times, but I haven’t received a single human reply.
As a developer who utilizes DevEx and relies heavily on this platform, this situation is incredibly damaging. I have always strictly adhered to the Roblox Community Guidelines. This automated loop - where an official Roblox tool generates content, triggers a ban, gets approved on appeal, but leaves the developer locked out without support - is completely unacceptable. The platform needs to realize that its existence depends on creators like us, both solo developers and studios.
In conclusion: I strongly advise exercising extreme caution when using the Studio AI Assistant. Roblox cannot hold developers responsible for what their own backend AI systems generate and upload without a proper pre-upload security filter.
As it stands, I remain unjustifiably banned, waiting for support to manually lift the lock and clear my account’s reputation.
