Ways to decrease shining of parts


As shown in picture, the parts are very shiny when using future, but if I lower the brightness too much the lights just wont be as effective as neded

If you’re talking about the vertical streaks, try messing around with EnvironmentDiffuseScale and EnvironmentSpecularScale (you can find them in Lighting), or try a different tile material/texture for the ceiling. Both of those dictates how prominent reflections and refractions are… or something like that.

If you only use SmoothPlastic as your Material then the Parts will be shiny. Try other Materials.

What are the Ranges of the Lights you are using? You can try making the range higher than what’s needed to increase the brightness at the distance required.

For example if your ceiling is 12 studs above the floor and you have Range of the lights at 16 studs the brightness fades out pretty quick at the end of the range. Try raising the Range to 20 studs to see if that helps because it may mean you can reduce the overall Brightness of the lights.
