Weekly Recap: August 25 - August 29, 2025

Hi Everyone!

OMG WE ARE ONE WEEK AWAY FROM RDC25 - Can’t wait to see y’all there, and meet some of you for the first time! :man_dancing: Teams are super excited to share what they’ve been working on, but for now, here’s what we announced this week.

Oh BTW, there won’t be a Weekly Recap next week because of RDC. But we’ve got you covered and will be posting all the exciting news as it happens! Stay locked in to the Announcements page! :eyes:

Remember - we keep information at a high level within these recaps. For more information or to leave feedback, please comment on their official announcements linked below.

Betas and Tests

[Client Beta] You can now publish Styles in your experience!

  • Styling APIs are in Client Beta and can now be published in your live experiences!

  • During this Client beta, you’ll be able to publish experiences that use our StyleRule, StyleSheet, StyleLink, and StyleDerive instances. Everyone now has access to the no-code Style Editor tool; it will no longer be gated behind the Beta features tab.

glTF Export Beta Available Now

  • You can now export 3D assets uploaded to your account or your group’s accounts to a glTF file.

[Upcoming Tests] Improving Game Discovery With Relevant Information

  • Over the coming months, we will be experimenting showing users different types of metadata in the subtitle section of the tiles for each game.

Announcements

Announcing New MicroProfiler Features for Network Profiling

  • Added a Network Plugin to the MicroProfiler that will provide information on network usage.

Automatic Translation on DevForum

  • DevForum will automatically translate to the language you’ve selected on your main Roblox account.

  • Many of you use a Roblox language other than English, and this feature will allow you to seamlessly interact with other DevForum users in your native language.

HTTP Streaming Now Supports Server-Sent Events in Studio

  • Server-Sent Events (SSE) are now supported in HTTPService within Studio.

  • You can now maintain a live connection and receive streamed data from external tools and services.

Improving Secret Manager UI in Studio

  • Made significant updates to the HttpService’s Secret Manager interface in Studio. There are now improvements to individual secret entries, input validations and clear instructions.

Updating Age Requirements for Experiences with ‘Restricted’ Content Maturity Label

  • Users under the age of 18 will no longer see search results or recommendations for experiences with ‘Restricted’ content maturity labels. This change will decrease the visibility of content that may not be age-appropriate for younger audiences.

  • Later this year, access to experiences with ‘Restricted’ content maturity labels will be completely blocked for all users under the age of 18, an increase from the current 17+ requirement. Please refer to our Restricted Content Policy for more information on what is permitted in these experiences.

PSA: Internal playback volume for AudioPlayers will soon double

  • We recently discovered that the AudioPlayer instance plays audio at 50% of its expected volume compared to Sound instances.

  • To provide expected parity, we will soon be doubling the internal playback volume of AudioPlayer instances. This means all AudioPlayers will sound two times as loud.

Nothing to special this week. But nothing too bad.

:sparkles: My rating: 70/80

I wish that Roblox would be more on top of moderation which is why there was some rating taken away but other then that it was a pretty meh week. The New MicroProfiler Features for Network Profiling is probably my favorite announcement from this week for the easier debugging.

——

Topics I feel should be mentioned:

  1. Analyzing Roblox’s Stance on MeepCity

  2. Roblox Schlep situation AND their moderation is just getting worse [TALKING ABOUT THE MODERATION IN GENERAL, NOT JUST SCHLEP DRAMA]

——

See you next week, Robloxians… let’s hope next week is better.

I love this little series you’ve got, how long have you been doing it?

I started on May 5 - 9, 2025

I was originally just trying to report a bug I found but I ended up making it a hobby to review the weekly recap even after my bug report was mentioned in a release note. I would include my bug report like every week lol. Glad you enjoy it!

Why choose an obscure number like 80? Why not something more rational like 10 or 100?

There was 8 updates to roblox this week, not including the dev forum update and the PSA. Each annoument adds 10 to the total and then I rate each of them out of 10.

I don’t consider the PSA cause it’s more of a warning. But will consider when it’s forced.

So the total is based on the amount of announcements to studio or development.

Those topics are unrelated to development, and it’s a different department.
