Weekly Recap: November 3 - 7, 2025

Hi Everyone!

This week we launched some exciting things, from Custom Matchmaking for all experiences to our Speech-To-Text API beta. How are you thinking about using our new tools? :woman_bowing:

Remember - we keep information at a high level within these recaps. For more information or to leave feedback, please comment on their official announcements linked below.

Betas and Tests

[Beta] Introducing the Speech-to-Text API

  • We’re excited to launch the Speech-to-Text API Beta with new observability dashboards to enable you to convert voice and other types of audio into text and monitor its use.
  • With our Speech-to-Text API, you can implement voice-controlled game mechanics, build accessibility features for your experience, and enable dynamic conversations with NPCs

Announcements

Custom Matchmaking is now available to all experiences on Roblox

  • We’re happy to announce that Custom Matchmaking is now available to all experiences! You can access it through your experience’s dashboard under the new ‘Custom Matchmaking’ page.

Adding Makeup Preview to the Avatar Setup Plugin

  • We’re adding a makeup preview to the Avatar Setup Plugin in Studio to help you build and test your complete makeup looks on heads.
  • This new tool makes it easy to mix and match your makeup assets, control the layering order, and preview your creations on different skin tones and with animations.

[Live now] Use configs and experiments to grow your game faster

  • We’ve launched configs and experimentation to help you make dynamic updates to your games and measure their impact on your key metrics.
  • Configs lets you launch features and update in-game values in real-time without server restarts.
  • Experiments lets you measure the impact of your in-game and matchmaking updates on retention, engagement, and monetization.

Launching even more Server CPU!

  • Roblox is upgrading how server CPU is allocated to experiences, making it dynamic based on the real-time number of players.
  • This change, rolling out between November 10th and 12th, will increase baseline CPU and automatically adjust CPU allocation as players join and leave.

Custom Matchmaking is now available to all experiences on Roblox

  • Custom Matchmaking allows you to change how players are matched into your game by adjusting the weights of matchmaking signals or defining your own signals based on your data.
  • Experimentation lets you measure the impact of your in-game and matchmaking updates on retention, engagement, and monetization.

[Early Access] Introducing In-experience 4D Functional Objects and Enhanced 3D Generation

  • Creators can sign up for Early Access of our new GenerateModelAsync API and enhancements to the TextGenerator API.
  • Creators will be able to use these new services to create experiences where your players make 4D objects in game.

[PSA] Mobile Client Crash Reclassification in Creator Hub

  • On November 4, an update reclassified specific Android sessions from crashes to successes.
  • This change will cause a noticeable drop in the client crash rate on the creator dashboard, which reflects improved telemetry, not an actual improvement in application stability.

Updates

UIStroke Improvements: Scaling, Offsets, and More!

  • Our previous updates to UIStroke are now in Client Beta and can be published in your live experiences!
  • We’ve added rich text support for our new UIStroke properties and fixed a bugs regarding UICorners and UIStrokes, BorderOffsets and hovering GuiState

Pretty nice week, I can’t forget about how bad last week was though.

:sparkles: My rating: 52/70

my favorite announcement was Use configs and experiments to grow your game faster because you can do so much things like live events or changing values without

There were other announcements I didn’t like such as 4D Functional Objects and Enhanced 3D Generation which I thought was confusing. There was also “Adding Makeup Preview to the Avatar Setup Plugin” which I don’t see many using.
——

Topics I feel should be mentioned:

  1. Terrain system needs more features
  2. Let us choose how big the lighting grid is
  3. Let us auto-activate Gui buttons!
  4. Add gradient support to the highlight instance

Thanks for the home reccommendation & ads video, was very insightful and will definitely be helpful to me as someone who plans on sponsoring a game soon.
didn’t really understand the significance of the first 7 minutes though, felt like it didn’t add anything. also not sure why they didn’t edit out the discord ping and constant coughing in background.

This platform never stops innovating, it’s got to the point where we, a technical college class, wrote an essay about Roblox and it’s features.

And thanks to the continuous groundbreaking updates, for me, it wasn’t hard to write it…
