What are some ways I could get traction to my places without running ads, or sponsors? What would be most optimal for me?

Contact small channels give the Gamepasses they will play then

Start a community server (like on Discord), share development progress, etc. If you can get a couple of people to know about your game you can multiply that amount with a community server.
