For the terrain devs out there, what are your tricks? i’ll give a short list of some of my tricks.
-Growing hills out of the brick/wood planks material in order to see the elevation curves before painting them.Example:
-Sculpting V-shaped valleys into cliffs,so they look more realistic.
Examples
-Changing the color of materials like ground or mud to green or a green-ish material for a more diverse texture (to create the impression of moss clumps, for example).
Example:
-Following a fractal/branching pattern when sculpting valleys, especially on rocky or mountainous maps
Example:
-Creating a foggy setting for larger terrains (>2000x2000 studs maps) to reduce the rendering problems, like distinct terrain materials overlapping (i know it is not really a problem, rather a feature for reducing the lag,but it can become a problem in very large showcase maps). Example:
-Mixing several materials for realistic rocks.
