I’ve recently released a game where you can drill various different ores using drills and such. We’re currently running ads at around 10k robux per day yet our CCU wont pass more than 10 players. I was wondering if I could receive feedback and suggestions from other developers on what could be improved. What helped boost your games player count?
I spent a good 10-15 minutes playing your game, the initial introduction is amazing with the tutorial. I instantly knew what I was doing and where to go. However it seemed at the start that walking back and forth to the Sell point and my base was mandatory, maybe add a text that says ‘use the buttons at the top of the screen to teleport’ just so it’s understood the second you join. VFX and SFX are on point, everything feels satisfying. For crafting maybe add a longer tutorial that introduces them into the crafting aspect of the game, to start with I didn’t even know where to go to craft.
As for your question about the CCU. Generally CCU isn’t stable until you hit the algorithm, if you aren’t getting enough DAU (Daily active users) your games statistics generally won’t be accurate. My recommendation for you is to try running abit more each day on sponsors, maybe up it to 15-20k and keep making changes to up your games stats. As of now this looks like a promising game for algo and i’m excited to see where it goes.
If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to reply to this post.
My game was taken down for review for around a week and just got put back on public recently on the 18th. Would stuff like that push our game down from the algorithm?
The game is fine, however, there are a lot of areas for improvement. I could see why kids are having difficulty with the tutorial.
Let’s start with some general advice:
The tutorial is 1/2 completed, you are missing telling the user what to click. When you got “Place a drill” part of the tutorial, it took me a while to realize I had to equip a tool from my inventory, a kid could just quit the game. Add more button indicators. When you got “Sell Ores”, I was a very long distance away from the seller, and nobody likes walking long distances. I know you have a button on top that teleports you there, but perhaps rename that to “Sell Ores”?
It would constantly fluctuate between 0 and 30 but it peaked at around 89 I think? That was with ads though. Also a difference is that we targeted ads towards everybody but currently we’re only targeting ads towards the USA and Canada.
I think if you do the updates @arxweb and I pointed out above, and experiment with how much you run on sponsors + sponsor settings. You will start to see better ccu pops.
