Greetings! It’s me Paul! Everyday we see this category always being used to talk about bugs or problems in this forum. Let’s do something different, in this topic you may post about what do you honestly think about the DevForum.
Honestly, in my opinion, I really love the Roblox DevForum by having such interesting categories for help and feedback, collaborations, and updates on the Roblox Community. The other reason I really love the Developer Forum is that it helps many game developers through help and feedback by many of the other forum users.
What I think of the DevFourm is that it helps developers either to hire experts on certain jobs in developing, bring developers together for updates, community news and other important things for us! I just like the DevForum to see people creating new things, cool projects or other aspects that they created!
Honestly, I love it. It provides an environment for developers to speak to, learn from, and collaborate with other developers. It’s a wonderful resource and can help with everything from learning to networking and getting commissions / positions on development teams. I love it and it’s community.
I think the DevForum is a really useful and great resource for all the beginner developers out there, such as me. If the developer forum didn’t exist, some of us might have not even become developers in the first place. I am really glad that ROBLOX exists and is a place for everyone to build and create their imaginations.
Well, actually I see you have a good point based on your reply. You really see the DevForum in a really special way which I really appreciate your point.
I hate that Chrome’s find function, accessed by CTRL+F, has been hijacked by the dev forum’s developers.
The hijacked function is less functional, as a I can’t cycle through search results.
Hijacking it is completely unnecessary as there’s a big icon for search as it is.
Furthermore, it’s inconsistent. This hijacking only happens on some pages. Not sure which.
At first i thought the DevForum was some super elite group where people discuss about the most omega roblox things ever. But when i first visited, it was a cool environment. I think its a good place to research about more specific problems. I come here all the time to learn something that i may or may not use in the future. Overall, this is a very nice place to learn things. Loooooove the devforum.
I actually appreciate your point of view about this.
I actually agree in your statement that this forum is a great and cool environment.
Hope you meet some interesting people here.
It is concerning when new members does not understand that “thank you” replies are unnecessary and that pressing the like(and maybe marking solution) should be enough. Although new members are making the same mistake, the DevForum is already a professional environment even today.
Actually, your reply is actually true. In everything though, if we look at the new members improving through learning the rules, as you said it will really become a professional environment for Developers or Normal users alike.
That’s why I also apreciate the way they added discobot for user tutorial that will help new users.
Could be better, it’s not of any secret that this was a more civilised and more contributive community. While, of course, I am grateful for the bot for promoting me to member; I feel that the old posts (2013-2017) had much more value in quality. It’s a bit more unprofessional than it used to be, and I feel if the forum wants to attract a more professional community then it has to be tough on moderation.
In my own opinion, Roblox Dev forum is a place when people share their content and the place where they get help by more professional people, it like a place where you’re never alone. If you need some help everyone is here for giving you advices, most of people are kind in this community, the new features that let everyone join devforum automatically isn’t that bad after all !
But sometimes it needs some updates and some of people (new people) sometimes don’t really understand how it really works. But it still a great forum, i hope it will stay for a long time !
I think that the devforum is incredibly useful and is a great addition to the platform. It gives developers a chance to share each others work and in general just providing a great environment for both experienced developers and new, upcoming developers.
The reason this happens is because Discourse dynamically loads in around 10 posts at a time. You can’t search the entire page with the regular ctrl+f since it’s not all loaded. Pressing ctrl+f twice would still “work” last I checked, but it’s only really useful for searching the post you’re reading.
The transition from private website to public in 2018 created quite a rift between original community members who had to apply to get in, versus more recent members who have just been able to join.
I think the reason you see more value in older posts is because back then, the community had more mutual respect for each other. It was previously a privilege to be among the talking heads here. Now with the community being as large as it is, it’s hard to gauge what kind of replies you’ll be getting once you post something that everyone can read and interpret in their own way.
