What exactly is the "updateRenderQueue" label?

What exactly is it? I have been wondering why rendering large scenes is so slow and the lack of general performance dosent seem to be coming from SPECIFICALLY rendering. The “Scene” metric is always a few times faster than the “Perform” metric for whatever reason. For a long while ive mostly seen people chock up the lack of decent performance to just physics computations but it CANT be that. I don’t believe its physics otherwise camera angle changes would not drastically affect performance. Physics lag would be pretty constant universally. So what is it? What does it actually do? And why is it so goddamn slow?
