What is Better: Unions or Mesh Parts?

Hi, I am building some largeish in-door maps and I have a lot of walls, and I want to reduce lag by either unioning them or making them a mesh part. Let’s say I have 50 wall parts, should I union them or take the time to export them to Blender, then re-import back to Studio. Unions can create a bit of lag, I have heard.
What do you think?

  • Union
  • Mesh Part

Mesh parts make less lag than unions.

You also don’t need Blender to make a mesh:

  1. Right click what you want to become a mesh
  2. Export as .obj
  3. Re-import it

It’s that simple. Unions create lag. It’s so easy to make a mesh, so just do it.
This tutorial could probably help you.

This tutorial explains why meshes are better.

Only use Unions when absolutely necessary.

Of course, cleaning it up is recommended-

You never ever want to use Unions. Not only can they makes things a bit more laggier than the contrary, but your Unions can be corrupted out of the blue and there’s nothing you can do about it.

(Roblox still hasn’t fixed this issue to this day.)

I recommend that you use mesh parts. If you’re interested in combining bricks or anything in your place,

  • Export the selection.
  • Import it in Blender
  • Export IN Blender.
  • Upload it in the property of MeshPart.
