What kind of tutorial should I do?

Hey everybody!

For awhile now a tutorial has been wanted for my game, and I want to know what kind is better.

So far I know of two ways I could do it,(tell me if there are other ways)

  1. I could make it easy and simple and just have the camera move around and show the players different things on how to play the game.
  2. I could make it a hands on experience and take the players through the game step by step so they know how to play.

Video type tutorial:
Pros: quick and concise with player action
Cons: unless super detailed, not getting all of the game’s features and all the little things you need to know

Hands on tutorial:
Pros: get a full dose of the game with all it’s parts explained
Cons: can take longer, and can be frustrating

So what should I do?
Or do you have another idea?

Which one?
  • Video type
  • Hands on

I would also like to hear yours reasons for your opinions, thanks!

I’d say hands on so they’ll get to know the game a little bit quicker, because then they’ll get lost after a few minutes and they’ll mostly likely just leave, make sure to make it so they can skip the tutorial too (so people who don’t wanna wait for it to end)
