What do you mean by âformer developersâ, also most of the things that you have listed are completely subjective. Theres not one way a build âshouldâ look like.
It all depends on the game genre. like @Viztec said there is not just one way, and all the options vary.
Can you add a bit more context on the game, such as game genre?
What is the style of racing game? is the game cartoony or realistic, the lobby should match the game and vice-versa, What is the target audience for your game as this can also help you figure out the style that is needed. I would be happy to help further if you can expand on these areas
