What should i add in my game?

I am making a game called Echoes of Arsenals where you use crossbows to defeat orbs in order to level up and gain cash. There are currently 10 islands, so the level cap is 120, but my game does not really have a maximum level, so you can grind even at the last island repeatedly. My average playtime is ok, I guess, but I need to add more players to my game because the game is not that popular in its current state. I just want advice. I have tried implementing customization, a new GUI, etc., but I don’t know what the most efficient thing to do right now is. Echoes of Arsenals [The Ocean!] - Roblox

It needs a better thumbnail.
It looks ok, but if I saw it, I wouldn’t join it.

Hello InfiniteE! I agree with @AVeryFancyDoctor on the game icon thing, in my opinion it doesn’t really tell much about the game. After you’ve fixed that you should also consider making the game more intuitive because, for the first two minutes I’ve played it, I didn’t even realize I had to click on the Quest Giver in order to get the quest ( may just be me being dumb ). What you can do is add a ProximityPrompt or a little BillboardGui to the Quest NPCs. Regarding the UI, well, make it fit more your game’s style if you can but most importantly re-position the buttons and increase their sizes.

I personally like the atmosphere and the concept of the game, I find it really relaxing!

Does the experience feel boring or not? (Honestly, please). People who are early in the game say its boring but players that have are playing for a while, like after island 3, say that it is a fun game

I think this good be a good game concept, however it needs some improving. Here are some things I noticed.

  • It seemed really boring at first because I was killing the same kind of enemy every single time. I also thought there would be a different quest after I finished the first one, but it just gave me the exact same quest again. It seems a bit repetitive and I don’t think it would retain players well. Perhaps try adding different quests in the same NPC (instead of repeating the same one) and maybe even some different enemies on the first island.
  • I wasn’t sure what the money I was earning was for, as there was no shop or anything (at least on the first world). I think there should be more upgrades available near the beginning of the game.
  • I was about to leave right as I joined as I thought my weapon wasn’t doing anything (the health bars weren’t going down). The mobs still died after a few hits, but I was confused for a bit because the health bars did not decrease.

Thanks, I will try your suggestions. Just telling you that it does not use a humanoid on orbs, so no health bar. It does it all in the movement script.

What should I do? Show NPCs that the player should come back to when they have enough money or to just buy it at the first island instead of coming back at a higher level. For eg. Should i make it so that my double jump costs like 25000 cash or just 500 cash but still being in the same island.
