What should I add to this lobby?

I’m currently working on a horror game, and I’ve just finished building the lobby. It looks very bland and plain at the moment, but I’m unsure of what to add.
I’m thinking of adding broken furniture + a secret room, but I don’t really know what else. Maybe signs advertising items in shop?

What is the lobby supposed to be? Abandoned home, office in the apocalypse, etc?

An abandoned warehouse room or something of the sort.

Maybe you could add some rusted or broken pipes along the roof or along the walls?

Thanks for the suggestion, I’m going to add some

Don’t feel obliged but it would be interesting to see some pictures after you make some adjustments. But like I said, if its to much work, don’t worry about it

Oh yeah, I’ll add some more pictures once I adjust it!

Add more object with rust maybe? Maybe even add a hole in the wall and add glowing eyes.

Crates that may be splintered open could be a good touch.

Couple updates (theres a video above now too):

I would make the floor concrete and a slightly yellow shade, and maybe just add some trash or broken machinery around. Try giving the place a backstory by adding posters and the like.

The reflectance is so much at the walls and at the floor try lowering it

Most horror lobby’s incorporate a more basic design you should basically add anything that fits the genre, you could throw a few props laying on the counter so it features that abandoned theme. Add some textures or abandoned props vegetation or even place something you would see when visiting a few images.

I’d add more details place cracked pieces or even broken structures around the surface area, etc. The walls should match the design and style your going there’s different approaches to go about this. I’m sure if you include the proper elements; while viewing other existing games you would learn on what details are needed without cluttering certain areas.

After all it’s a start in my opinion the place needs small improvements.

If it’s a genre like horror, I would make the metal walls wooden, and color it a dark brown. Maybe when SurfaceAppreance finally releases Q1 2021 you could replace it with aged wood, and the wood grain would be more accurate as a bonus.

I would also add physical lamps somewhere in the lobby, and color the lighting source yellow, to try and represent an incandescent lightbulb, since I wouldn’t expect horror games to have white light, at least not much of it.

My last suggestion would be to make your character scarier in a way, such as a new mask and outfit, to really get into it, and to keep the feel of the game.

Few more updates, pretty happy with it. Probably gonna make some changes to the lighting, add some stuff to the shop, some trash around maybe, I don’t want to go too overboard since its just the lobby.

You could make the lights flicker every few seconds to give it that just bit more of a spooky vibe

Im glad you’ve changed the walls and floor into wooden, because it will look pretty empty

You can add some broken wires that have sparks where they should be connected, maybe some marks on the wall and a crack in the roof with moon light coming through for extra effect.
