What size (memory) do you aim for with decals & mesh textures?

Hi developers,

In order to reduce the memory of our games we of course want to make the memory of our decals and textures (for meshes etc) as low as possible without losing too much image quality. Often high memory is a cause of crashing devices and in-game lag.

I was wondering what size (memory in KB) you typically design your decals & textures to and what’s your upper limit (memory in KB)?

I’ve heard that some developers like to keep their decals & textures below 200 KB, but I would like to hear from more developers. I appreciate all the responses, thank you!
