What the difference between a union and a block?

Im confused, whats the difference between a union and a block? Im new to building so i dont know this.

A union is used to negate parts or to join parts together.

A block is roblox’s primitive object, it’s a basic block. Unions are complex, geometric shapes formed out of triangles. Unions can join two blocks together, and cut out a part from another

And, a block is pretty self explanatory, It’s just a part you can add into Roblox Studio which is how any builder begins their builds.

a union is negated parts grouped to make a shape, and a block its not grouped.
