What's wrong with my game? Again

Hi everyone, I recently launched my new game with a 30k robux ad. It’s getting a decent amount of players but the benchmarks are embarrassing (picture benchmarks from 2 days ago).

I will preface by saying that I would NOT want to make such games (in fact the game was made in a hurry and with little care), but I am forced to because of urgent need for money.

Please don’t be harsh with your judgments about the theme of the game, because I am already ashamed enough. :confused:

I can’t figure out what’s wrong, especially what keeps players from staying in the game for more than 4 minutes. Monetization is not going too bad, I have received some purchases (I messed up a bit with gamepasses and so the benchmarks did not detect about 400 robux in a day). The rest is embarrassing.

Any help or comments are welcome, as is any useful criticism.

Unfortunately while some “slop games” do easily get popular, this specific sort of game is not appealing in any sense. “Slop games” still have an original aspect to them that makes them enjoyable, but there are literally hundreds to thousands of this exact obby with AI generated thumbnails themed around the most recent brainrot memes.
I really suggest trying to think of something at least slightly original. People aren’t going to want to play something that’s a carbon copy of another game. Sorry man.

I understand, I don’t know the demand of the children’s audience and seeing similar games with huge success I thought it was a good idea. I don’t understand the needs and the type of games that this type of audience is looking for.

what I still don’t understand is how other games, decidedly worse than mine, should be more successful. I mean, I haven’t tried that hard but I think my game is better made than others. This makes me think that if it’s not the game itself that makes it go viral, then what is?

I think success is determined greatly by luck, but also by originality in the sense of who got there first. If someone already made this kind of game, there’s only gonna be a couple other games that get successful with the same idea. You need to expand your scope and get an idea of what really draws players in. Go searching for games you like to play, figure out what it is that makes them fun and what it is that makes them money. If you want to follow trends, you need to be ahead of them. Though it’s likely going to be easier to just do something original for the sake of passion.
Better discovery is a good tool for understanding what audiences want from games, and for getting an idea of what’s actually popular and enjoyed by players right now.

No problem dude. I’m personally just pursuing a passion project and I want nothing more than for game development on Roblox to become more and more accessible and fun for everyone else on the site. I’ve been lucky enough to have a very kind and very intelligent programmer assist with my project and I pray that sort of kindness reaches others on the site who were in my position.
