When should I release my Roblox game: now or later?

Hey everyone, I’m currently working on a Roblox game and I’m trying to figure out the best way to release it.

Option A: Finish the core gameplay, release it as a Pre-Alpha, and build off community feedback.
Option B: Wait until the game is much more complete and do a full release later.

What are the pros and cons of doing early access on Roblox?
Would players be turned off by a bare-bones version?

I’d really appreciate your thoughts and experiences!

Another option is to only allow friends access to it as a closed alpha.

I think the core gameplay / core loop of the game should be in place before you let others test it. This way they can also test if the core game idea is actually fun.

I think a con of doing an early access to the public to early is that some people might not give it a second chance if it isn’t good or fun enough the first time they played it.

I personally think you should release it as a pre alpha, as play testers will not only give you ideas about how to improve your game, but also find game-breaking bugs right at the start so you wont have this issue later, as I have found that playtesters will do almost everything to find bugs that developers would NEVER see coming, and you save a lot of time as you wont be going through everything and trying to fix 1000 scripts rather than fixing 100.

Some players will be turned down by alpha games, but a game that starts off later will still be turned down from people on the platform, and from experience I have been given a little more grace from being in the pre-alpha stage rather than having a full release.

Unless your game is a literal baseplate, or has very, very bad gameplay, I cant really see a con in uploading it in pre-alpha
