Where to go from here

As a builder I feel as if I’ve hit a plateau and can’t come to a consensus on where to go from here. I’ve been building for around 4 years on Roblox now (not consistently) and i’m generally stuck on what’s next in terms of getting better. I’ve thought about trying to learn 3D modeling as a next step in my career but am unsure on where to start and whether or not that’s what I should be doing next. I made this post to attract the attention of experienced/talented builders and modelers who may have experienced something similar in the past and what they did about it.

All ideas and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If your looking for money commissions. If your just looking to free build then make something that pops into your mind, like your neighborhood or a showcase.

Disclaimer: Sorry, but I’m no Builder. But I think I have a couple ideas to help you out.

I would suggest working on some 3D modeling in Roblox Studio. Although models aren’t allowed to be sold yet, I’ve heard that Roblox is working to implement this system in the near future. Since you’re a Builder, I’d definitely suggest working on simple or complex models that you might plan to sell later on. If or when Roblox implements selling models, you could potentially make yourself a handful of Robux.

If this doesn’t interest you, I’d suggest learning a new designer skill that could make your builds even better. For example, learning to make cool textures, icons/logos, or even a GFX as an Artist could help improve your builds by making them look more appealing.

If that didn’t interest you either, I have one last suggestion for what you should do. You could make a game - wait, before you say no to scripting because it’s hard, hear me out. The game doesn’t have to be a scripted game. It could be a showcase! You could use your knowledge of building models to make your own showcase of a famous place or event, then publish your creation to Roblox! I’ve seen a couple games like this, such as Paris (which, by the way, was a 2019 Bloxy nominee for the Greatest Showcase Award) that are absolutely breath taking with Skybox creations and 3D models. You could potentially develop a showcase game like this! Plus, you could even make Robux from it by getting creative with gamepasses, DevProducts, Premium Payouts, and more!

I wish you luck in choosing what you want to do and your future of building (and potentially art). Let me know if this helps you decide on what you want to do now as an experienced Builder!

Basically what @HappyLemonzYT said.

If you’re stuck in what may seem like a bump, I’d sincerely recommend experimenting with what you know or wanted to try before. I don’t mean to say experiment in the sense of deep, intricate meddling and building and all that, I mean it more in the sense of just building new things. I know way back when, I used to stick with medieval-esque builds. I got a bit bored and went on to try some sci-fi-esque builds, then immediately went into architectural builds.
At best, it’s about what you prefer, what you’re interested in, and all that stuff.
