Which 3D Modelling software is good for modelling low poly cars?

Currently I use Cinema 4D to model everything. I find it a bit hard to do car modelling. I was wondering what do you guys use?

I use Blender for most meshing I do, but a friend of mine who makes cars for Car Crushers 2 uses Cinema 4D. I’m not a builder so sorry if I couldn’t contribute much to the topic

Blender 2.8 has a really dope new scroll-mechanism, feels super smooth. Not to mention the UI overhaul and real-time rendering so…definetly a good and sustainable/viable AND free option.

I wouldn’t know since I haven’t used C4D. But I don’t think the software matters when you are modeling. I’d go with which ever you have more experience with

I use blender for just about all of my modelling. It’s a very versatile software and has a simple UI and setup once you learn the interface. There are many tutorials out there on how to use it and the overall modelling system in edit mode is super smooth and easy to use. I’d highly recommend blender if you’re making car 3D models.
Hope this helps!

I agree that blender 2.8 is a good option if anyone is wanting to do 3D modeling. It is powerful and at the same time, very intuitive. Before, I was using C4D over blender but since I tried the new blender 2.8 beta, I’m considering switching.

Ah, that is a very good point.

Thank you! However, where does he get reference images/blueprints from?

I’m going to definitely play with blender and see the outcomes!

I’ve seen your 3d Models and they are outstanding, so I’m willing to give it a go :+1::blush:

Oh wow, but there are some features I like in C4D like octane rendering etc.

Well I might be wrong but, I think you can do that in blender as well.

I think he gets them from the internet, usually a picture of the front, back and sides of a car.

Car modeling shouldn’t be hard on C4D, I’ve been using it for around 6 months and I haven’t found any troubles with making a low-poly car.
I usually find the blueprints I need on some websites such as the-blueprints.com or getoutlines.com.

Yep this is the friend I meant

But it isn’t really cheap! I’ll search some ways to download it for free haha

You shouldn’t download software for free. I’m pretty sure it’s illegal and also you don’t support the company nor its developers who put a tonne of effort into it.
