Yeah generally it’s easy to spot. It may be more accessible for people to create an icon/thumbnails for their games, but (me personally) I wouldn’t recommend going ahead with one that has been generated for you.
What may be better is to use it as something to base a more legitimate icon off of? But I don’t believe it’s great practise to use an AI generated icon, despite them already being very popular.
Have a go to see what you can make if you take inspiration from it instead!
These icons look decent, but it’s kind of noticeable to many that it’s create by AI. I have nothing against you using them, I think the second one looks better since the text is blue and more exciting. What game will this be used for?
OH GOD I CAN SEE THE PIXELS. Also Ronaldo just a simple question why the hell do use AI for thumbnails? Cause AI SUCKS at doing something that looks interesting. Like when I see an AI thumbnail I am just like “well this game sucks not gonna play it”.
lol i put that thumbnail like 10 months ago where i didnt know how to make a proper icon, i will change that later thanks for reminding me guys edit: (((trust me i will change the ai trash icons!))))
i used ai, because that icon well is like 10 months ago, and now im creating a proper icon and well, i will obviously change that trash thumbnail! thanks for reminding me! (in my head i thought it looked better) for the meantime im just deleting it
I recommend creating an entirely new game icon from scratch that can align with the artistic style of your project. A well-designed icon can make a strong impression and grab players’ attention.
While many developers use AI-generated icons to save time — which is understandable, especially if you’re on a tight budget — keep in mind that these icons might not match your game’s unique style. This could lead to lower expectations from potential players on Roblox.
For good and consistent practices, you can use the basics of Roblox GFX! Try using Freecam to capture a high-quality screenshot of an area in your game environment that will visually stand out; Add a well-posed Roblox character with an expression using face packs available on the Creator Store; And use photo editing software (such as Photopea) to enhance the lighting of both elements for the scene. This approach is both effective and free, while also ensuring the icon reflects your game’s actual aesthetic.
In addition to this, I recommend updating the game logo as well. A unique and creative logo helps convey the essence of your game — it tells a story, even if just metaphorically speaking. Consider using a minimalist font, experiment with its visuals and styles, and make it look special. Other software like Figma is great for this, as it allows you to work with vectors and easily combine design elements… Don’t forget to gather references and inspiration when mastering your logo to look visually appealing!
