Which is better for 100+ unit games? Humanoid or custom meshes with AnimationController

Hello, I’m planning to make a game you can control your army in free camera. Using a lot of humanoids makes lots of delay and I need to solve this problem. I’m thinking to add custom rigs in one meshpart with AnimationController. I wonder your opinions, what do you suggest?

Humanoids take up a lot of computing power, but if you were to create your own replacement for Humanoid, you would likely run into a lot of issues with physics. I would try to do the second option, but it depends on how well the physics and movement can work.

Humanoids cause a lot of lag when there’s a lot of them, and I’ve heard switching to your own system can help with it and is better for games with many units, but I haven’t tried it myself, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

i made my own system and its more work because you have to code the physics yourself but you have more freedom to optimize so you can generally handle much more npcs
