shouldnt the BEAMS be worse?? since they also require PARTs and ATTACHMENTs

Attachments can now be parented to everything (you probably need to enable a beta feature). Even without that you can always parent them to workspace.Terrain. So no parts, and I doubt Attachments have much effect on performance.
