Which tail fits best? (Done)

I’m working on a new character, there’s 2 tail types I was trying to decide…

Let me know when you think.

  • Type 1 - Round-type tail
  • Type 2 - Blender made tail (my first mesh)

We can’t really make a decision without seeing the rest of the body, the tail needs to compliment the body.

Oh, I didn’t even notice about what I was doing…so anyway, the reason for the Type 2 tail?

Type 2 tail, it is just better. I would say its even more roundy than the first one! (It is more “realistic”, than the first one.)

Voted type 2.

It might also look nicer if you apply smooth shading. Definitely better than type 1.

Is there a way how to make it look smooth and HD?

In Blender 2.8 while in object mode, select the object and right click it. Near the top of the list should be the option to “Shade Smooth”.

This is flat shading vs smooth shading; same geometry, different shading

I think Type 2 is quite nice, however, I would try to smooth out that blue bit near the end of the tail if you were to go with that one, because it looks quite unnatural. I hope that this feedback can help you make a decision!

The blue thing, is a band that he wears. Also, I’ll try to make it more HD then.

Ah, I see. I was just curious on what that was. (30 characters)

Ah, so that’s how you do it then…there I go!

And also smoothed out the band as well.

I think type 2 is better, as it looks more stylish and realistic
