I’ve noticed that some of my players are purchasing VIP servers more than once — sometimes even three times or more. I’m not sure if this is the players’ fault, a visual bug in the “Sales of Goods” section, or if there’s something wrong with Roblox/my game particularly.
I feel like It happens more frequently than it should, hence why I’m asking in here. I’m not quite positive if there’s a proper category for this question.
And a staggering number of similar cases beyond just these images. It’s occurring at an unusually high rate. These examples don't even make up 1% of how many times it has happened.
I’m no Sherlock Holmes by any means, and I’m proud of my game’s minimal success, but I don’t think it’s the sort of game that needs that many VIP servers. I’m more inclined to believe that the players are the ones responsible for making all these purchases, but its overly frequent occurrence pushes me to second-guess myself and think otherwise.
If the transactions would have been spread out, ie occurring once a month, then it would have definitely been for the monthly transaction.
If users are consciously purchasing multiple servers at a time, then the only reason that I could think of, would be if your game got some vulnerability which includes datastore (that users could trick / manipulate for their own winning).
Could also be a Roblox problem, pretty sure Roblox have shown clones of transactions in the past. Is the timestamp the exact same on each transaction done by the same user? If so, then they are probably just duplicates.
It is either that, or some in-game feature that can be abused by server-hopping (reason for me mentioning datastore earlier, as server-hopping can be used to revert data if the developer has not added that extra layer of security to prevent it).
When purchasing VIP servers, they usually show up instantly, no need to refresh the page, so I feel like these people are not accidentally acquiring more servers, but that might just be me shrug.
The least likely option would be that the accounts got their credentials stolen, and that the person responsible decided to target OP’s game, by purchasing a few servers, a very slim chance, but not unheard of. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll get the answer anytime soon, if ever
The transactions are occurring at the same time as shown in the image below:
It could potentially have to do with monthly subscriptions — my best bet is that it’s a visual bug, but there isn’t enough evidence for me to make a bug report about it. It’s hard to tell if it’s the players’ fault too when there are three VIP server purchases by the same person within the timeframe of 1 minute, which is sort of physically challenging to even do unless you’re speed-running making VIP server purchases for some reason. The situation’s ambiguity does not help pinpoint who/what exactly is responsible for these visual glitches/transactions.
Good philosophical thinking. However, there is no way to manipulate any aspect of a three-player obby through purchasing multiple private servers (not my game at least).
This remains to be a very confusing and mysterious scenario.
