Why can the game get slower the longer you play?

When I play in some Roblox games, I can notice that the more time I play - the more laggy game become. Can someone tell me what can cause this lags, so I won’t make mistakes in scripts in my game?

(Please don’t post about:

while true do … end

while wait() do … end

repeat … until …

I mean everyone know about this yielding function lags)

No they don’t.

If performance is degrading over time, it’s almost certainly a memory leak, or similarly more and more connections being set up and not being cleaned up, making the game process more and more useless stuff over timer.
